About Us
Temptalia is a global reference and resource for beauty enthusiasts featuring in-depth reviews, photos, swatches, tutorials, and beauty tips, along with popular features, such as Dupe List, Foundation Matrix, and Swatch Gallery. The company was founded in October of 2006 by Christine Mielke, who is also the editor-in-chief. Temptalia is a word Christine invented to describe the perfect person–“they’re smart, sexy, confident, and totally amazing!”
Mission Statement:
Every person deserves to feel beautiful and confident from the inside out and free to express themselves through the art and beauty of makeup.
At the end of 2019, Temptalia has reached over 87 million unique people since it began. Each month, Temptalia reaches 1 million unique visitors who visit 2.7 million times and view 7 million pages.
The Team
Christine Mielke (Founder, Editor-in-Chief) lives in Arizona with her husband and resident technical expert, Shaun, and fur-kid, Magellan aka “Mellan” (who makes a weekly appearance in Free for Haul Friday). She is a 2011 graduate of Santa Clara University’s JD/MBA program, after having graduated in 2007 from University of California, Irvine with B.A. in Economics and B.A. in Political Science. You will see her work throughout the blog, as she is the content writer, photographer, swatcher, and tester for the reviews and posts you see here.

The features and resources Christine has dreamed up are currently developed and maintained by her brother-in-law, Nick, who largely handles the majority of web development of this website. Nick is the person who supports and addresses readers on any technical issues or errors!
Christine’s husband, Shaun, was Temptalia’s original, full-time developer until he said, “Ahh! Enough with the makeup!” and she made him “Head of New Business.” While he continues to provide invaluable feedback, ideas, and support for Temptalia, Shaun now builds, develops, and maintains websites for the company that are unrelated to beauty (you’ll find current projects linked in the footer!).
