2022 Formula: The formula is supposed to be "highly pigmented" and "blendable" with a "butterly smooth" feel. The majority of the matte eyeshadows were quite pigmented, while some of the shimmers were overly emollient, which resulted in sheerer and/or uneven coverage.

The matte eyeshadows have a bit of dryness to them, though they were pigmented and fairly blendable, but they tended to apply best over an eyeshadow primer, which ensured a better base for them to adhere to. The shimmer eyeshadows were best applied with fingertips or a flat, firm (and sometimes dampened) brush and pressed/patted into place, then lightly blended.

I did not love the two finishes paired together as the matte finish was thinner and more powdery compared to the thicker, denser shimmers, so the shimmers often "erased" the matte eyeshadows when blended out.

The formula was different than the brand's original single pan formula that they originally debuted with, and I preferred their original formula overall, though the new one is decent, just not as foolproof to work with.

Original formula review: The formula is supposed to be "highly pigmented, long-lasting, and blendable" and come in a variety of finishes. Most their eyeshadows are semi-opaque to opaque with a smooth, blendable textures that are easy to use and apply well to bare skin. The shimmers are slightly dense and creamier to the touch compared to the mattes, which aren't thin but don't have the same amount of slip. They tend to wear between eight and nine hours on me.

This shade creases on me, even with primer, but it may not crease on you: my eyelids destroy makeup with extreme efficiency. It's a beautiful nude with just enough shimmer to not be completely matte (without being noticeably glitter), and it plays well with others.

This coppery eyeshadow goes on beautifully, and hasn't faded on me in >8hr of wear. Typical of Coloured Raine's metallic eyeshadows it's heavy in the pan, packs on easily, and yields a full coverage in a single layer. I applied it on my waterline and my sensitive eyes didn't complain. The copper is a bit orange-y, though, so if orange sits badly on you this shadow will likely not sit well either.

I find that this one appears more orange in the pan than on application. On application it is nice mid shade warm brown. This looks really nice allover the lid, in the crease, adding depth, adding smokiness. Really enjoy this in palette.

This is another shade that I find is highly pigmented but blends out easily. I do not find that it fades. It is very warm toned and plays well with other shades. The color works very nicely for smoking out and adding depth

I really enjoy this shade. On me, it does not fade very quickly. I also enjoy the blend-ability. I find that this is very pigmented but that it blends out fast.

If you need a bronze- copper eye shadow that applies like butter and can be seen from space, this is for you. It looks like the most beautiful, pigmented melted penny when applied wet and lasted on my eyes for like 9 hours and never faded.

I use this shadow to "break" a matte look and liven it up without getting (what's on me) an obnoxious amount of glitter, either on its own or over whichever matte shadows I applied that day. It's a gorgeous wheat colour, more pigmented than Anastasia's 10K yet not all that pigmented - it's possibly the subtlest Coloured Raine eyeshadow I own.

Aptly named - this eyeshadow is the exact colour of gingerbread cookied. Positively tempting to eat! Great as subtle shadowing on fair-to-medium skin, or else as a base/neutralizing on medium-and-up. It's the exact shade of my natural tan, so I use it in basically any non-glittery look. It's a matte shadow, but doesn't leave a fully matte finish, more like a semi-matte to natural depending on the amount used. (It's noticeable from the first light sweep, but can be built up to full true-to-pan cover; I can't call it "opaque" as it blends into the skin just too well.)

Easily one of my favorites. Remarkably versatile: warm brownish-purple that needs be applied with a very light hand - but if you have that hand, it'll work splendidly on fair skin as well. Mixed together with ColouredRaine's Gingerbread and applied high on the cheeks, it makes a gorgeous blush; easily more natural-seeming (on me) than any blush-proper!
