Editor's Review
FYI: We collaborated with Sydney Grace to release a collection!

The matte eyeshadows tend to be pigmented (typically semi-opaque or opaque, often buildable if they aren't opaque) with a soft, more velvety texture that has slight slip but isn't so thick that it gets difficult to use, applies unevenly, or has a lot of fallout. I've found that most of the matte eyeshadows apply and blend out without much effort but a few may take a bit more effort to diffuse along the edges. The matte formula tends to wear between eight and eight and a half hours on me.

Most of the shadows in the Sydney Grace x Mel Thompson Tiny Marvels palette apply beautifully. Jewel Bee, unfortunately, is the exception. In my experience, it was extremely dry, prone to kickup in the pan and hard-panning with any attempt to obtain a finger swatch, and difficult to build or blend. Even when packed with color, brushes deposited little more than a sheer wash of phantom violet on bare skin, requiring repeated applications to achieve visible results.

Great outer-v shade for smoky looks or blue-toned looks. Blends out super well for any shade, and especially so for a dark blue-ish matte. Really impressed with the quality and easy of use of this one. Well done, Christine.

I'm actually really thankful for this "basic" shadow in this palette. It really is the perfect corner shade or bottom-layer for the rest of the palette. The depth of this black is stellar!

Excellent formula, as expected. Wears very well, even without eyeshadow primer on oilier lids. Color pulls quite warm into slightly orange on my very fair, neutral-warm skin tone.

This has become my go-to crease color or all over one-and done for a no-makeup look. Regardless of how you use it, it's pigmented but easily blend-able, and doesn't need a lot of building to get great color payoff. It makes it so fun to use. I also pair this with Laughter and Hot Chocolate to get my own "better than Charlotte Tillbury" Pillow Talk eyeshadow trio.

This has become my go-to deep neutral for my fair skintone. It can lean warmer or cooler depending on what other colors I'm using, and it can stand on its own as a single shadow look. It blends effortlessly, and builds on itself easily. It's a staple in my collection now!

The shade Beyond, was a bit disappointing. It's a beautiful cool-toned, deep chocolate brown and it is highly pigmented. However, it blends to nearly nothing, and has a tendency to run together and blur other colors. I have a bit of a learning curve with it, but so far I am finding it to be a slightly difficult shade. But, I still 100% stan this brand.

Cool Brown is just that - a great cool-toned mid-depth brown shade that is great for single shadow looks, crease shades, etc. This one builds and blends really easily.

Drift is a smooth, easy to build and blend, opaque skin-toned beige on me. It's a great base shade for fair skin, and could be a great matte highlight for some skin tones.

Concrete Road is a cool-toned, lighter matte grey. This shade does take a little more building up than others, but it does build and blend beautifully.

This is a very impressive matte shade that can serve as a deepening shade for a variety of warm and cool toned looks. It is very unique and I am happy to have it in my collection.
