Hi Angel

Becca Hi Angel Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed ($38.00 for 0.25 oz.) has a soft, warmer peachy-copper base with iridescent, blue-to-violet shifting pearl. It has a smooth, silky consistency that wasn’t powdery nor too firmly-pressed into the pan, which helped it pick up readily with a brush while blending out beautifully.

The product had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, though I found easy to apply less or buff the color out for sheerer coverage if desired. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Sad to see Becca go, but this last release is a high note!

Formula Overview

$38.00/0.25 oz. - $152.00 Per Ounce

The Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed formula is described as having an "ultra-reflective shine" with a "creamy" texture that "applies seamlessly." In general, the texture of the highlighters is incredibly smooth, silky, and finely-milled with frosted to metallic finishes and the occasional more sparkly finish.

They tend to have a high-shine, more metallic finish and are a stronger highlighter, so they are going to be best suited to someone who likes an obvious highlight over a very subtle one. That being said, with a fan brush and a deft hand, one could certainly achieve a subtler, all-over luminosity as well, but if one takes a typical, tapered highlighting brush, there will be quite a bit of pigment and highlight on the skin.

I find that some shades can emphasize the look of pores slightly to moderately, depending on application. They tend to last between eight to nine hours on me.

That’s what I’m thinking! I’m a bit paler than you, so I think it’ll be a pretty blush topper. I’m also anticipating using it on the eyes quite a bit!

I am, completely unexpectedly, really drawn to this! (I never use highlighters, though I once bought champagne pop for a wedding.) Do you think it could be used as a blush, or would my cheeks turn into blinding disco balls?

DG Avatar

Excellent! I’ll have to see if I can get my hands on this. Thanks!

(Also, just got your palettes in the mail!!! Two arms of swatches – I basically look like a toddler who got into the marker box – and I am absolutely MADLY in love!)

Mariella Avatar

I was wondering if anyone had received their Temptalia palettes yet because I’m waiting for mine and so eager to try it and to hear from others who’ve got theirs already.

DG Avatar

I’m in NYC, so it took just under a week from time of purchase! (I bought it immediately, but I believe it officially shipped Monday / Tuesday.) Hope you love yours!

I was so confused about them having a new product out, when they are done in September. So, with something like this, is it likely Becca had already created this product before they decided to close shop?

(And on a completely different note, is anyone else being harassed by the ad for Dicovery+ at the bottom of every Temptalia page, where the guy is licking the side of a woman’s head, in a super creepy way? [I’m not sure how licking someone’s head like it’s an ice cream cone would be done in a non-creepy way, lol]. I close it, and it opens back up again).

Jo Avatar

Thanks for your reply! The ad is not a super big deal, I was just wondering if everyone had it, or if the ads are personalized and I was somehow targeted as being interested in head licking. ;). (I’m definitely not!)

I have the same advertisement. I enjoy horror and mystery subscriptions wanted to see if it was a horror streaming subscription so I clicked on it but it looked pretty tame, lol

Jo Avatar

Haha. I’m glad it’s not just me! But I don’t like horror stuff, at all. What was the show it was advertising? I’m so curious now. (Yet I haven’t clicked on it, myself, lol).

A different discovery + banner ad shows on the bottom of this PC. it jumps up and intrudes on the blog. There is also a video pop up box at the lower right of screen. I NEVER use the work computer to check Temptalia, and my devices are apple. TBH, the ads are for true crime, my jam, but this computer has no way to target me; it’s used by many. The problem i have on ipads is on the dupes pages…all covered by cosmetics ads to the point that you cannot see the content. Head licking sounds like a new Nars shocko release!

Ugh. This is so beautiful but I really cannot justify adding more highlighter to my collection. I feel like I could replicate this effect with some duochrome eyeshadows layered over a more traditional highlight..

Donna Avatar

Here in the UK, the brand has already been pulled for online and in stores. Most of the products left are in the sales. So this product will not even appear here.

What an interesting shade for a highlighter. Could this possibly mean (the fact that they are releasing new products) that maybe there won’t be a shut down? I hope maybe they’re going to keep going, somehow. Have they declared this as a “last release”? That along might be reason to buy it.

Mariella Avatar

Oh rats!!! I already stocked up on the Backlight Priming Filter in the VIB sale – that is one product I will REALLY miss. I’m so sad they’re bringing their business to a close.

CeeBee Avatar

Ooooh, I just bought half a dozen Becca highlighters on sale and couple of months ago so I definitely don’t need more, but this is BEAUTIFUL! I am very tempted to indulge, knowing it will be their last. talk about ending on a high 🙂

Got this highlighter along with some of their Ultimate Love lipsticks and I have zero regrets. It can be lightly applied to look like a luminous blush, or heavier as a highlighter. The iridescent, blue-to-violet duo chrome effect is to die for!!!
