The lighter shade is more of a light, golden beige with a shimmery sheen, while the deeper shade is a muted, dark peach-brown with a satin finish. According to the brand, Air Blush is supposed to offer buildable coverage with a “luminous finish” that wears for “24-hours.” Each shade consists of a lighter and deeper shade, designed to be used together (each section of product is quite narrow, so it’s not feasible to use a blush or highlighting brush to get a single color). In general, I found the lighter color to have more shimmer/luminosity and acted as the “highlighting” shade within the palette, even though some variations are such that both shades are more blush-like in color and depth. Please note: It’s pretty hard to test a cheek product for 24-hours, since inevitably, most of it will end up on my sheets if I go to sleep, and I can’t tell you if or when I’ve ever pulled an all-nighter on purpose. To that end, I am rating by considering how it looked and what (if any) break down of product occurred between 14 and 18 hours of wear and then extrapolating to determine a “final” wear-time.
Flesh & Fantasy is the lightest/most muted shade in the range. It had medium coverage, which could be built-up to opaque coverage in two to three layers. The texture was soft, smooth, and a little dusty when I worked with it, but luckily, this did not translate on the skin. It still applied well, blended out easily, and produced a natural sheen that added luminosity but did not emphasize pores or look metallic on my skin. On me, it was still looking very much intact even after 18 hours of wear.
Worth noting, during July, 25% of sales of Air Blush will be donated to amfAR when purchased through Marc Jacobs Beauty. (I wouldn’t use it as an excuse to purchase something you’re not interested in but would consider purchasing directly vs. through another retailer if you were planning to buy. I have ordered direct from MJB a few times, and they have always packed well and shipped efficiently–no complaints!)

Interesting how the swatch looks very light to the point I wouldn’t think it would show up on my medium olive skin, but it’s VERY bright on your cheeks!
The combined swatch didn’t look that light to me – it seems to show up about the same for the combined color (first set of swatches) and how it is on my cheeks?

I think I’m going to pick this up once I pan my Nude Pop. The wear time seems amazing, but I have does 9 of all the colors I’m interested in.

This is pretty! I have some dupes in my stash already, although it’s not a 2-for-1 highlighter/blush like this one. Hmmm, will have to think about this.

This one looks to be pulling pink on you, too. Much pinker than I would have thought. But, given how my tablet shows the two shades in the actual palette, I would not have predicted the swatch or dupe colors, either. Maybe these vary with skin chemistry or skincare ingredients. Very pretty on you, whatever.
I’m seeing like a muted peach/brown, maybe a little rosiness myself? But it looks a lot like the combined swatch on just my arm!
yes..ditto. Also, I like this sucker because in comparison swatches, this one runs the least what I can only describe as chalky looking.. something I’ve noticed in lighter blushes in general and particularly this range.
Eye see what you mean.. Was trying to figure out if it was the hot pink other cheek and lipstick pulling it pinker, but that more rosy peach tonal nuanced look is the reason I’m going for it!
This blush is so so so my colour! I love it – only wished it wasn’t this crazy expensive considering how similar it looks with other brands’!

If it matters to you, I compared it to Cliniqe Nude Pop and is twice the price, but also more than twice the product by weight.

This is the *perfect* fresh-faced summer cheek!!! Love these type of shades during summer, because of their realness. Not 100% sure how well this would show up on me, though. Of note: MAC Cheek Pollen and Milani Romantic Rose both do, even though they’re not very dark or colorful, and give me a noticeably natural toned, yet blushed cheek.
It might show up, but it’s definitely one of those iffy ones!
I think that everyone needs this one! I ended up testing it’s wear time (for about 7 hours only though) and it looked the same until the end of my night! I went out dancing and drinking, so you know it’s good when it lasts through that lol.
