Editor's Review

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow is a cream-based formula that comes in a multitude of shades and finishes. The more metallic shades have the most slip to them (they have a “wetter” feel), while the more matte ones have a firmer, more clay-like consistency. Almost every shade I’ve tried from ColourPop has been exceptionally long-wearing (10+ hours of wear, usually there until I remove, even 14 hours later). The pigmentation can vary from shade to shade, but the average shade is quite pigmented.

From feedback I’ve seen from readers, many love them but some don’t like them at all. They aren’t a traditional cream eyeshadow, as they are denser (more sponge-like), and they apply best with flat, firm, synthetic brushes (I like the MAC 242 and 249) for me. From feedback I’ve seen from readers, many love them but some don’t like them at all. They aren’t a traditional cream eyeshadow, as they are denser (more sponge-like), and they apply best with flat, firm, synthetic brushes (I like the MAC 242 and 249) for me. The brand recommends using fingers for the most pigmented application, but I’ve only felt that fingers were necessary on a few shades (usually the super glittery ones).

The more matte shades can be on the drier side and vary from medium to opaque in coverage, though they're often buildable.  They can be a little hard to diffuse the edges of, though some are lovely to work with.

The more glittery shades have been the weakest to me, as they can be sheerer or harder to apply.  Sometimes, they are more pigmented and work like the other finishes in the formula, but often, they are sheerer and only function well patted on top of more pigmented eyeshadows to add glitter.  They do, however, tend to have little fallout over time with the occasional shade having a more moderate amount of fallout (but still less fallout than most powder eyeshadows with glitter).

Makeup Look
Claims / Ingredients

Our famous long-wearing crème powder formula with a unique bouncy-like texture. It's super creamy, insanely pigmented, and has one swipe intensity with zero fallout. For Max Coverage - Use your fingertip and tap shadow directly onto the eyelid. A flat, firm synthetic brush will also work and is perfect for detailed application close to the lash line. To Blend - Use a fluffy synthetic brush with good movement, dip the tip into the shadow and apply with a "windshield wiper" movement throughout the crease of the eye for a soft and diffused look.

This looks very nice I’m going to order it. Can you please tell me what “pip” and “p” mean. I guess LE means limited edition and DC means discontinued.

Absolutely my favorite eyeshadow. Love to wear it as a nude sparkle for a dramatic wing liner and bright peach lip.

It is a favorite mainly because I use my matte super shocks as a base and there is barely any creasing. I thought that it pulled more blue, but maybe I just had poor lighting or just used a certain topping shade because my last few looks have pulled more pink. Still really cute either way! Get any mattes while they are still around!

This was my first supershock shadow, and I went for a very safe neutral, light brown matte shade. I fell in love with this cream-to-powder formula, and I am looking forward to trying more supershocks in a variety of finishes! These are easy to use with a finger, quick, and they stay in place all day with no creasing. This shade is very "no-makeup" makeup for me, but there are a lot of bold color options as well. Love that the brand is Cruelty Free. You do have to make sure the lid of the product stays tightly closed to avoid drying out, but I think I'll be able to use this up before it turns.

Extremely icy on medium dark skin tone. The gold comes off silver especially next to warmer super shock shadows. Giving away.

I get so many compliments when I wear Milky Way SS. This is a gorgeous fushia and the blue glitters really pop. I personally use glitter glue with all my SS as I have oily lids. I just tap a bit where I want it, pat on the SS, and I can still blend the edges without needing a glitter glue on the blended area. Milky Way plays well with other shadows and on me lasts all night (usually after 8 hours I'm ready to remove it and it is still going strong so it can last well beyond 8 hours).

It's very light reflective and shimmery, yet looks natural. The Super Shock Eyeshadow formula is like halfway between a cream and powder, which makes it so easy to just quickly apply. You can apply just one layer for a sheer look or you can build it up to be more metallic. Perfect for a one and done shadow look!

I was hoping this would be as it looks in the pan... a punchy pink with sparkle. Unfortunately, the pink is very sheer so it is kind of a tint of pink with lots of gold glitter. This does not build up and does not blend regardless of if I use my finger or a wet brush and a primer or a glitter glue. This shadow just does not build up to enough opacity to really even tell there is a hot pink base when applied to the eyelid. I tend to use this more for just topping another shade (ie, if I have a muted pink I will top with this to slightly deepen and glitter it up). This is not a great performer on its own, don't be fooled by how pretty it looks in the pan.

My current go to for a quick simple and easy "one and done" look. Just sweep some all over the lid, and done. On my skin this looks like an olive green with silver and lighter green flash, and its stunning. Wear time over primer is usually 9ish hours before it starts to disappear into my crease. This super shock is pigmented, so a little goes a long way.

Literally, love this shadow SO MUCH. The glitter is there all day! It's super smooth to apply and blend and is very pigmented! The only thing I'm sad about is it's super unique so finding dupes will be hard. :(

This shade puts the glitter in "ultra-glitter". Seriously, I can only apply this by patting it on the lid with a silicone sponge, because any other way and glitter chunks just end up everywhere. All over my face, on my hands, on my socks somehow. Everywhere. I know a lot of the ultra-glitter super shock shadows have glitter fallout, but this one is absolutely terrible for it. Otherwise, its a pretty sheer shade, and the glitter is gold with a bit of a bright lime green flip, but its not special enough in my eyes to deal with the mess.

A pretty brown shade that I use every day. I love it. It’s a deep brown on very light skin. Medium brown on medium skin.

Looks green in the pan but not on the eye. I can’t describe the color at all. Lot’s of glitter and very buttery. I love it though! Great topper.

This is the most difficult color ever to describe, so I’m not gonna try. It goes with everything and on it’s own. You can use it with green, purple, brown, taupe and mauve colors. Apply with finger!

More beige than Bill. A great crease or transition color. I love it because it blends well.

I love this shadow! It is a burnt orange which applies well with a brush and a finger. Blends really well. I use it with a pink glitter topper.

Less creamy than my other super shocks. But can be applied with brush which is nice! Blends well. The colour is something: purplypink mauve.

This is amazing. The colour has zero glitter and 100% shimmer. Very pretty. Better applied with finger than brush.

Very glittery and blinding! Not as much pigment. Apply with finger because with a brush you will get nowhere.

It’s mainly a glitterbomb. I need a high pigment shadow underneath to make it work. It has very little pigment and a lot of glitter. Also makes a dent the moment you touch it. Does not apply with a brush Well. Use finger!

Super-bright and full of pigment. This is an excellent, creamy shadow that applies richly with one swipe. I find it’s best to use a finger to apply, as I do with all ColourPop Super Shock Shadows. Gorgeous color with green eyes!

Like most Ultra-Metallic shadows, the formula is great. Color is stunning too if you like really warm shades.

A lovely orange-coral shadow with a very slight pinkish-gold shift. Perfect for a "one and done" eye look. Good pigmentation, very creamy. It's a favorite of mine for spring and summer.
