Formula Overview

$45.00/0.11 oz. - $409.09 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have "intense colour" and a "high-shine finish" that is "longwearing" and "hydrating." The majority of the shades had semi-opaque to opaque coverage with a few having more translucent coverage. The color typically applied evenly and smoothly across my lips without tugging or settling noticeably into my lip lines.

The texture was emollient, more like a lipstick-lip-balm hybrid with moderate slip and a tendency to be more yielding as it warmed up against my lips, though it didn't start off stiff or firm either. I found that most shades were flattering on my lips as they were more forgiving of imperfections in texture.

While they weren't particularly long-wearing--more like three to five hours with deeper, red-based shades lasting the longest--they were comfortable, moisturizing, and not prone to feathering/bleeding. They had a floral scent but no discernible taste.

They are all pretty and I have no dupes but that is because I don’t usually gravitate to these colors. I am trying to spread my wings and seek out other shades and tones that I wouldn’t necessarily wear but I am so locked into the pink/berry/red and the occasional coral leaning shade, that I just can’t make myself spend more than $20 for a lipstick that isn’t my preference. Who would have thought that $20 would sound cheap for a lipstick!
I have been lusting after a Gucci lipstick and they are $75 so I just save it and go look at it online everyday!! I have never tried a Gucci lipstick so don’t know how they hold up over time. If I knew it would last years I might spring for it. I have MAC/Chanel/Dior/Lancome/PMGL/Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks that I have had for 7 years or more and they have not gone bad. For that matter, I have a few drugstore lipsticks that have lasted the test of time. I did declutter most of my drugstore lippies just because I don’t wear them.
