ColourPop Rock On Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches
Rock On
ColourPop Rock On 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($14.00 for 0.32 oz.) is a new, limited edition richer neutral palette with a warmer, reddish undertone throughout most shades. It doesn’t feel like it covers new ground for the brand, but I did like the tonal variation across the finishes within it. It’s interesting as a release given the small collection it was part of and that it was the only new release from the brand for all of August!

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

The shadows look so amazing. I just wish it was any other color scheme!
While I’m not sure what possessed me to put this on my WL, I really do like the quality. It’s a solid performing, nicely curated palette that would be great for travel, I’m thinking.
This palette is just another indication that I need to get the CP Smokin’ Hot palette. I did a palette comparison and they’re very similar! Same with CP Lucky Penny. I’m putting Smokin’ Hot on my list this year.
Judging by the large number of dupes for this palette, it is definitely not an original palette of shades. It leans to orangey/reddish for me, but I do love CP’s coppery shimmer shades. A solid palette for autumn.
They only released once in August?! I feel like that’s an omen for a ridiculous holiday season 😭
I don’t really understand ColourPop anymore. I have seen so many iterations of these shades and tones and I don’t know why they keep rehashing the same shades. Sure the tone may be slightly different and so no two are exactly the same but lets face it, on the eye they are going to look the same. They don’t really create bad palettes but I would think that most people have so many of these that they would suffer in sales. If they put out less palettes and worked on some really unique colors, I would be interested again but this is just sad.
