Danessa Myricks Bloom Colorfix Matte ($18.00 for 0.34 oz.) is a vivid, almost neon, deep red with strong, cool blue undertones and a matte finish. It was almost glowing it was so bright! The more it was sheered out, the more pinky-red the color appeared. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, and it was the type of pigmentation where a little went a very long way. As the formula has a quick dry down, as advertised, it was easier to build up coverage rather than to sheer it out if over-applied.
It had a lightly creamy consistency that wasn't too thick or too thin, which helped it apply evenly and maintain its coverage if desired (say as a lip or eye color), but it could also be diffused and blended out without much effort for a cheek color. With the intensity and brightness, I found using a more feathery brush to diffuse and blend out the edges helped give me a little more time to work. Fingertips worked well for an initial dab of color (like on apples of cheeks or the center of the lid), though a brush gave a sheerer, more watercolor-like application as a cheek color.
It stayed on nicely for 10 hours as a cheek color and eye color, and while some of it had faded on my lips after seven and a half hours of wear, the stain left behind was intense. This shade did feel a touch drying as a lip color, though.
