I’m disappointed that these are not going to be the cream or satin finish that the originals were. I do not like how matte finishes look on me and have yet to find one that I find to be comfortable. At least they are bringing out the same shades so those who loved the originals and also like mattes can get their favorites again. Hopefully these perform well. Considering how long it took for them to release the new formula I expect they will.
I absolutely agree, Lauren. I’ve been “over” matte lipsticks for 5 years or more (I was never a fan). I loved BITE’s lipsticks and loved their creamy formula. I hope this return of the mattes means that satins and creams might also be coming soon. I’ve never understood (and I know I’m not alone) why they abandoned their traditional lipsticks that were so wonderful.
They discontinued so that they could make all their products vegan and “clean”.
I think even back in the day, their lipsticks were “cleaner” than many. And they’ve lost all those years (5 or more, I’m guessing) of business and a “presence” in the makeup marketplace and mindset of people.
Fingers crossed on these.
I want to see Bite back.
Finally! They sure took their time about it. I’m looking forward to the reviews!
These had better be good!
I’m ok with “soft matte” if it errs more on the side of gentle, non-drying satinish. I’m surprised they didn’t bring back Honeycomb, which was very popular? Not to keep whining about pink lipstick (it’s a classic, i know), but that’s a lotta pink! Seasame is the most beigey nude one, but I’d have to see it in person.
I love a soft matte lipstick. I hope this means Bite is back.
I’m very happy to see them doing lipsticks, though going with even a hydrating matte first seems odd, when trends are going with sheers and glossy finishes. But these could have been a delayed release from earlier in the year. I hope they are as good as Amuse Bouche was.
Literally everyone: Please bring back your original lipsticks! Its all we want!
Bite: A new matte formula you say?
At this point I just have to assume the people at Bite are into negging.
The lack of Squid Ink disappoints me. Lordy, I miss the Amuse Bouches!
Well, that took them long enough! Finally getting back to that made them popular and highly rated in the first place. I am dismayed over how few shades they’re offering, though. Like I was really expecting them to come back with a bigger bang, idk? Anyone else?
I agree. I loved their original lipsticks and still have a couple kicking around. I am so over mattes and these shades seem quite boring, really.
Hate to be doom and gloom, but I am prepared to be disappointed.
I’m happy there is finally a bullet lipstick out, but once bitten, twice shy. They’ve had enough missteps that they are no longer a blind buy for me so we’ll just wait and see. I do like a soft matte or velvet finish so if they are good they could win me back, but I need reviews.
I’m hoping they are less than $35. I was fine paying $26, but the higher prices have been rather disappointing. I wish they hadn’t changed a good thing and had just added a separate vegan line.
How dare they take the tapioca pearls for my boba drinks in this time of shortage and put them in a lipstick…!
Jokes aside, I too hope these are more satin than true matte.
Harissa looks to be a shade that I would wear. Although I would prefer a cream or satin finish.
It’s about time! I like the shades I’m seeing but there’s not the same kind of variety they used to have before. That seems to be the way of things lately. I hope that their new formulation is worth the wait.
