We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Parure Baroque is the only one that seems interesting.
Surprisingly, I really like Cristal and Imperiale! They appear much more pigmented and pretty than I was expecting them to, that’s for sure.
Baroque would have been a beauty if the dark green had been better in the pigmentation department.
I saw multiple reviews that said the pigmentation in these quads is very sheer and doesn’t build so I’m interested to know how they perform. The swatches, which I know can be misleading, appear to be a mixed bag
My first impressions are that they are fairly pink/red leaning – more than I thought they were. My second impression is that each of the quads have shades that seem fairly sheer/soft – which would suit some but not others. I would be interested to find out how these would review.
These are not colors I want or need and the special packaging does not speak to me, either. I have seen some positive reviews, though, so good for all the people who are drawn to these palettes.
I love me some Chanel but these all look a bit underwhelming, going by the swatches. The only one that really interests me – Baroque (even with that red shade) – just seems sort of “blah”.
Someone described the gold foil as cheese and now I can’t unsee it. I’ve heard these had weak pigmentation and it does look that way from the swatches.
Since I am enjoying shadows with less pigmentation and not so many deep tones, these all speak to me but none of the quads is perfect in that there are shades in each I would not use. I am glad to hear that you purchased the Baroque and I am curious to see it used in a look. I hop you are planning on doing an eye look with it. I was worried that any look you made with it would look a bit like a Christmas tree and I know you will do it justice. I really like most of the shades in the Cristal palette. The other two are shades that have been done to death and if you like those shades these would be nice traveling size palettes.
Christine, I know your busy time of year is coming with the holiday releases, I so look forward to them!! I specifically am wondering about the Hourglass palettes. While I was gone, it looks like Hourglass has changed their packaging a bit and I have to admit I am intrigued. They look really lovely with all of the different animals/insects. I know the price has gone up and that in the past a lot of people criticized Hourglass for their money grab. I purchased every year until I went off makeup. There are some really pretty shades and Hourglass does powders so well. Just curious what your plans are regarding this release. Thank you.
Hi Deborah!
I’m still not reviewing Hourglass as a brand!
Sounds like I may have missed something with regards to Hourglass. I will have to do some investigation! Thank you for letting me know.
It just got to a point where Hourglass made it clear that they weren’t going to be more inclusive with their product ranges, like blush, bronzer, face palettes, etc.!
Oh, I understand. It does look as if these palettes are more inclusive but I haven’t been following the brand or any brand for so long that I don’t know what brands have been leading the way in inclusivity and which are still very far behind or are outright making a statement. I still don’t buy from KVD!! My local Sephora, 3 hours away, had eliminated her section of their counter but I noticed when I was in Spokane last week, they had reintroduced her counter but I didn’t even stop to look. Thank you again for all you do. I am so enjoying being back into makeup and being here on the blog. It feels a bit like coming home!
this products are very nice
