Best Products of the Week | Vol. 357
Happy weekend! While I’m sharing the top-rated products I published reviews for over the past week, I’d love to hear about your own “week-in-review.” I love reading–and I know others enjoy sharing!–their own “week in review” when it comes to what makeup/beauty products they may have used and/or enjoyed.
What was your week in review like? Copy and paste the lil’ survey below and share your answers in the comments 🙂

Your skin tone/coloring: above with freckles, green eyes, warm brown hair.
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: probably this Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer look: https://www.instagram.com/p/CmHJ4UUL4B2/?igshid=MDM4ZDc5MmU=
What was the hero product of the week for you?: My Rare Beauty cheek products.
Any products you want to use next week? My Beauty Bay Dark Fantasy palette.
Your skin tone/coloring: pale, cool
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: all my standards and on eyes, UD’s Game of Thrones shadows – Casterly Rock and House Targaryan. Sephora Cappuccino to line. Dior concealer (man, do I need that!), MAC Sweet Sentiment blush and Craving lipstick over Elizabeth Arden Lip Fix
What was the hero product of the week for you?: Drixoral and Kleenex – does that count? Hubs had a dreadful cold – a really bad one and I thought I’d managed to dodge it…til yesterday! UGH – head-cold, stuffed sinuses, that horrible feeling when you have to sneeze but it takes 30 seconds to arrive, in which time my eyes water and water… My kids are coming home for Xmas (older son tomorrow, younger son and wife later next week) and I really don’t want them getting sick so we’ll all be wearing masks for a few days!
Any products you want to use next week?: Cloves eyeshadow from an old Too Faced 9 pan palette and maybe a different lipstick for Xmas – maybe something RED, rather than Craving!
Your skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?: I have used ND’s Glam pretty much all week and have tried to use a variety of shade combinations. The tricky part is, of course, stating which shades I used in my favourite looks. Here goes: The first shade in the palette – Glam 320 M – medium rosy pink on the top half of my eyelid, with Glam 330 M – deep gold on the lower half, and Glam 331 M – the deep brown shade next to the lash line. I paired it with MAC’s Fresh Moroccan lipstick.
What was the hero product of the week for you?: ND Glam
Any products you want to use next week?: I am seriously going to use some of my other eye palettes – Lorac’s Noir and Soleil.
Funny you should mention the ND Glam palette (the larger one as opposed to the really mini one) because it’s another product I’m thinking of using next week because of all the easy, neutral colours. (FWIW, I used Christine’s review of this palette to write the #’s of the shadows on tiny round labels and stuck them on the underside of the palette since nowhere are they shown by #’s, just by “placement suggestions” – one of the things I really dislike about that palette).
That’s a good suggestion Mariella re the Glam palette because the naming issue is so very annoying.
Sorry to read that you have been struck down with your husband’s cold – how caring and sharing he is! I’m not surprised though, with all the cold and snowy weather you have been experiencing. I hope you are better towards Christmas Day and it will be awful to be sick around your family.
Your skin tone/coloring: Light neutral skin tone, green eyes, almost-black hair with natural silver highlights
What was your favorite makeup look you wore this past week?
• EYES: Primed with MAC Painterly. Dior Cashmere Eyeshadow Palette (center shade on the lid, bottom left shade in the crease, bottom right shade on outer V, and then topped my lid with the top left shade to add a little sparkle), UD 24/7 pencil in Mushroom on my bottom lash line, Cover Girl Clump Crusher Waterproof Mascara, and Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara. On brows, Benefit Precisely My Brow in Grey to shape and Benefit Goof Proof in Grey to fill in.
• FACE: Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup in Sand, Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Concealer in Light Buff, Colorstay Pressed Powder, and MAC Sheertone Blush in Blushbaby.
• LIPS: Milani Color Fetish Matte Lipstick in Secret (fantastic dupe for CT Pillow Talk…inexpensive and a creamier, longer-lasting formula than Pillow Talk.)
What was the hero product of the week for you? Natasha Denona Glam Eyeshadow Palette. It was the only eyeshadow I took with me on my Disney trip and it worked out perfectly. I was able to do everything from subtle daytime looks to smoky evening looks.
Any products you want to use next week? Tartelette In Bloom Eyeshadow Palette. I bought it a couple months ago with a gift certificate and haven’t gotten around to using it yet because I’ve been obsessed with my Natasha Denona and Dior palettes.
