What are your favorite eyesahdow formulas?

This week’s topic is BEST EYESHADOW FORMULAS!  We’ve been compiling formula recommendations from the community, and you’ll find the top 10 top performing eyeshadow formulas shared below.  If you’ve shared your favorites in the past, you can always make adjustments to your recommendations or add additional recommendations based on new releases or products you’ve now tried.

Best Eyeshadow Formulas | The Top 10

The list below shows the top 10 most recommended eyeshadows with the only requirement being that they’re a formula that is permanent (so currently available). The list will automatically update as more recommendations are made! (If something has been discontinued, please let me know!)

You can view the full list of recommendations here, where you can refine the results by things like price, skin type, skin tone, and so on to get a list of the best recommendations for your coloring. You can also share your own recommendations.

ABOUT THE RECOMMENDATIONS

The Temptalia community is enthusiastic, honest, and diverse, so crowd-sourcing top picks from our readers is an excellent way to keep track of and organize the answers from our weekly “Hit List” post, which has typically asked for readers favorite [fill-in-the-blank].  Instead of scanning through comments, everyone’s answer(s) get saved to the Recommendations Database along with pertinent information like skin tone or skin type (as applicable).

We invite you to share your own recommendations, and if you think you might be making recommendations often, consider registering and filling out your profile as the form will pre-fill with your profile information for you each time!

Thank you for taking the time to add your recommendations to our database! 🙂

Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I have to vote for Pat McGrath, Sydney Grace, Colourpop pressed powder and Viseart. I actually really like the Violet Voss ones too.

Sydney Grace Queen Of Hearts not only got an A+ from you, but it is thoroughly phenomenal. Best red shadow ever, possibly my best SHADOW ever. Actually have not been snared by Pat yet for e/s, though I know Pat’s rule. Top now is definitely Sydney Grace, followed by CP, older UD, and Lorac 2017. Yeah, that was their best vintage, lol, and a sentimental favorite.

Oops, forgot Viseart. In my three Adept palettes, one is SG, one is V, and one is CP. They really do represent all that one would ever need. Some days I just open them and envy myself!

Oooh, noo, this makes me think I need Viseart Editorial Brights even more than I already do. Anyone have any feelings on that specific 12-pan compared to others’ matte brights formulas?

For reference my top two formulas are Natasha Denona and Anastasia (but of course neither of them have a wide array of matte brights).
