The formula is supposed to have "amazing pigmentation and easy blendability" that won't crease or fade. The pigmentation varied from shade to shade as some were intentionally designed with translucent bases, so those were often sheerer initially and tended to use larger, more sparkly particles.

In general, the multichrome shifts were weaker and less apparent as many shades were pearl-like in their sheen, rather than ultra-shiny or intensely metallic as is more typical of multichrome eyeshadow releases. I think those who prefer a subtler sheen and aren't locked in to having the most magical of multichrome shifting formulas will find this a nice option. Most shades had semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation with fairly blendable formulas that weren't too powdery or too firmly-pressed into their pans, though they were sometimes a little too emollient or too thin. They wore around eight hours on average.

A very interesting eyeshadow in theory due to its depth, sheer quality and multichromatic effect. Unfortunately it fell flat for me, it keeps building a hard pan after only touching it a couple of times, and I can't really get it to build. On the lid it doesn't perform well for me. Even over a dark base, you don't see much of the multichrome effect. I only get a muddy wash of color that doesn't look much like anything. Applying it wet has worked best for me, but in all honesty, there's eyeshadows from other brands that just give me more without behind a pain in the *behind* to work with. Lethal has a wonderful team and customer support, though, and they gave me a full refund for Dark Matter. Perhaps I just got a bad product and it works better for other people.
