MAC Metal Urge Color Information & Pictures

MAC COSMETICS | Metal Urge
November 2008

As suspected, Metal Urge will anniversarize last year’s Metal-x launch, but at least it is a fuller launch (it will include pigments, reflects glitters, and liquidlast liners). But on the downside, most of those are repromotes or permament (at PRO). We see a new pigment called Spiritualize, as well as plenty of new Metal-x shadows, and Molten Sol liquidlast liner makes a reappearance. I have heard very few raves on the metal-x formula, so I wonder if a) they improved it; b) we are insane, and the rest of consumers loved them…

Get details on this year’s Metal-X shadows… plus pigments, glitters, and liquidlast liners!

the shape of the shadow is pretty, but with the cream formula that doesn’t matter so much, lol. I don’t see myself lusting after anything in this collection ( and good thing, because all the others are already making my credit card sweat!)

eh not too impressed 🙁 Dont really see anything I can’t live without. But then again, I dont think I got anything from Metal X last year either.

I liked the Metal X collection – so I can see myself picking up a few of these, probably Material Gold, Verdigris and Gilded Ash. The Spiritualized pigment sounds good too. Exactly what I needed to get through today!

I loooved the Metal X collection. I’m one of the few that found it to be a great eyeshadow base and I managed to get it to never crease. Needless to say, I will be picking up more again this year.

I know they plan releases like a year and a half in advance… it could be reason C: They didn’t know it was going to go so terribly. 🙂

I think I’ll take a look at it comes out. Till then, I’m not wow-ed. Though I must say I practically never am by seeing stuff in a jar. Swatches, and looking at myself are the key to my heart =]

I’m more of a lippie girl, so not too intrigued by a lot of eye products. Although, a few of the Brushed Metal-X shadows looks interesting. I’ll have to check them out in person….

Heather Avatar

Yeah, I’ll check out the shadows, but my other Metal-X ones are way hard to apply and they usually crease on me. I have all of the liquid last liners already, but I def. want the new Spiritualize pigment!!!

I might be interested in some of the pigments, but the this is the weirdest thing — last night I had a dream that someone gave me a peanut butter jar full of Reflects Blackened Red glitter — fate? I think so!

Dawn Avatar

OH Wow. These look pretty. Gilded Ash and Verdigris sound pretty. I missed out on Metalblu last time so I have another chance. Can’t wait to see swatches of these!

FYI…I love Cocomotion pigment and Molten Sol. Those are great colors if you like golds!

The Liquidlasts are a possibility, but I hate cream eyeshadows with a passion and have forbidden myself from getting into Pigments, so I will probably be pretty safe from this collection. Thank goodness.

I hate cream eyeshadow, so I think I’ll get
Spiritualize pigment
Reflects Very Pink glitter
Visionaire
Inkspill
and maybe Molten Sol liquidlasts

Last year the only one i picked up cyber it was the best. A frosty silver w silver sparkle in it. I like using it as a highlighter. These are nice to add shimmer and dimension to a flat shadow to. I deff want to snatch up a gold one this time around. I cant wait to be able to play with the rest.

Afraid that the cream shadows will harden and flake like the ones from Metal X. I had purchased the dark purple (loved it) but, afater a few usages only, I had to toss it! Still have the silver and the gold but although not that hard, still not as creamy as when purchased. I wouln’t mind giving Gilded Ash a try… Already have Cocomotion pigments and Reflects Darkened Red. Don’t like the liquidliners, so maybe the other 3 Reflects… I’ll have to see them all in person first though.

Is it just me or does those colors and the packaging just look hideous? Sea shells? In weird garrish colors? I love the picture but that looks like different products to me! I guess its just not my style!

Jessica Avatar

Ugh is it just me or does this collection just look gross and blah? NOT INTERESTED WHATSOEVER. And I usually adore most MAC collections! At least I will save money! This collection sucks. lol.

Just got back from my MAC counter and got to see a couple things! First off, Spirtualize isn’t as pigmented as I thought it would be. Its kind of a boring straight green, but I think if you layer (maybe with some golds?) it could be pretty. I also got to see and swatch Pink Platinum which was really hot! The color is similar to Pink Freeze, but a bit more blueish. I liked it alot and would use it as a highlighter. My MA said the way you work with cream based eyeshadows is to use paint pots or paints underneath in order to prevent creasing. Also, use you finger to apply the eyeshadow instead of a brush so you can grab more eyeshadow and apply more evenly (These eyeshadows tend to clump in color). Anyways, can’t wait for the 20th! Hope this helped!
