Christine, I know Feline is a favorite among all gurus, however, Smolder smudges on me like crazy and I haven’t gotten a MAC liner since then. Should I try Feline?
Feline isn’t the must stay-put liner of all time, even though I love it and it’s my favorite black liner. I’m just sayin’ it won’t necessarily not smudge on you, lol.
I love Feline, too. Sometimes I put a lite dusting of powder on, then feline. It helps it set.
is the feline kohl power liner waterproof? why is there such hype about this product?
Feline is REALLY smudgy on me – I can’t use it on its own but it is *perfect* for the waterline or tightlining because you don’t have to push hard. Then I might go over it with a colored pencil or shadow.

maybe you can try the mac fluidlines? i think the mac-store-girl told me, that it’s waterproof. however, I tried it and I love it. It doesn’t smudge on me and I had this problem with different brands and liners for a very long time!
don’t apply fluidline to the waterline if you wear contacts. I saw spots and blurry visions all day. I was miserable. Feline is a good waterline only. It will smudge. The best stay put is Engraved Powerpoint eye pencil.
Tip: Line your eye with a black shadow like carbon first, then use Feline over it. That will help it stay in place. Smolder is meant to be smudgeable, like for a smokey look. If you want a black liner that will NOT smudge, try Engraved.

I always thought it was the other way around? Line your eyes with pencil first then set with powder?
Another tip is to take a kleenex and gently remove any moisture on your water line, then line with your pencil immediatley. It helps a ton!

I prefer the Urban Decay 24/7 liners to MAC’s. They don’t smudge or crease at all! I like them way better. Their Black shade Zero is amazing! HTH:)
Try graphblack or engraved both are GREAT liners that don’t smudge plus they are always available!

I think MAC Smoulder is supposed to be smudgey on you becasue it’s an eye khol and it’s made for smudging and smoking and such.

yes Christine, that’s perfect… it is like Fix+Rose but instead of rose, it’s Lavender. it does exactly what fix+ does but the lavender in it will sooth your skin and what’s even better is the wonderful lavender fragrance in it…. it’s like a Spa in your bag:-))

if you want to try something like feline, get the stila eye kajal in onyx. its almost the same thing.
The Stila kajal is $18 though whereas the Kohl Power is $14.50. I guess the pro of the Stila kajal is that it’s permanent.

as a frugal mac buyer, the lip gelees and paint pots seem to be the only things in this collection worth excitment.
though, not the gold paint pot- that color seems so ordinary and consistant amoung most brands.

On my list are the quad, grey paint pot, pink cream colour base, pigments, purple fluidline and kissable lipsticks….and that’s just the definite list…..it will prob grow once the promo pics and swatches come out. A combined buyers spreadsheet for the collections launching christmas week would be amazing(like the vv one you did)

Excited for the paintpots (although I’ll limit myself to 1), the lavender tinted lip conditioner (finally, a nude one! I bet it won’t be completely opaque, which is great for me) and the highlight powders. I prefer them over the MSF’s usually, as I’m conscious about my pores around my cheek area.
The lipgelee’s sounds nice, and they’re a good value for the price, I actually prefer them to the lipglasses, but I’m not sure I need more very sparkly ones.
I was looking forward to the palette, but I own Brule and Et tu,bouqet, Retrospeck I don’t (for a good reason), and I bet I can dupe the pewter one. I’m kinda happy that I can basically “start using” that palette tomorrow, if I feel like it. 🙂

Hey Christine, I just want to thank you for all the work you do on these posts, especially the early-notification-I’ll-be-broke posts. It really gives people who don’t have a lot of spending $$ (me) to write down what I think I might like, wait for the post with pictures, edit it, think think think and purchase what I REALLY REALLY want. I’m definitly excited about the quad the colors sound like they would work really well together. I also have never gotten around to getting Fix + so I think I might buy it when this comes out if its not too strong of a lavender scent

I talked to the MUA at the Mac store in Times Square and they said the only reason we couldn’t B2M for Tartan Tale was because of the limited number of lipsticks they had, but it wasn’t going to be that way for future LE collections.

I MUST have this collection! And that’s saying a lot because I’m usually ho-hum about MAC collections! I am a tried and true neutral girl and on the fair side so these hues are complimentary for me. Love it!

the highlight powders and the paint pots interest me a lot. maybe the lipsticks and the eyeshadows. we´ll see how much my purse will allow ;).
I’ll be getting the grey Paint Pot, a back-up of Feline (maybe a couple) and that’s probably about it. I’ll also take a look at I Get No Kick eye kohl and *maybe* the highlight powders.
I love Fix+ but I’m not fussed about getting a scented one; I love Paint Pots but I have Bare Study, Fresco Rose and Rubenesque which are all quite light and frosted; I could maybe do with a pale gold lippy but as two are perm I could get them whenever; the quad looks…meh and I already have 2 of the shades; the lipgelees look pretty dupeable and unexciting, I already have the light Chromagraphic pencil and can get a backup from the Pro store whenever I need one; I’m not fussed about lip conditioners or the face cream, and although the platinum nail polish looks like a lovely shade I’m not a huge fan of MAC’s nail lacquers generally.
So hopefully a cheap collection for me – YAY!

Paint pots. Oh yeah! Unfortunatly I have 3 of the 4 eyeshadows in the quad. Feline is totally in there too. MAC should make it perminant, but at least they realize its popular enough to keep repromoting it.

the paint pots are pretty but theyre not a good base for me as they crease after 4-5 hours. If I put them over another shadow base like the primer potion would both things work just as well?

I’m sure I’ll get at least 2 of the Lipgelees, since I love them so much. I might be interested in the Lavendar Lip Conditioner or Fix +. The beige Lip Conditioner seems too similar to Close for Comfort from the Warm & Cozy collection. The e/s quad looks really pretty, but I already have 2 out of the 4. It’s great that they’re bringing back Feline and the Chromagraphic pencils (they should just add them to the permanent collection). I’m hesitant to get any new Paint Pots because the ones I have are not creamy at all.

The model for the campaign is ugly but at least she’s unique with it. I like her hair and strong cheekbones.
Also Flustered lipstick and the lip gelees sound good, and the paint pots. Oh OK also the beige lip conditioner.
I have to say. I feel that this collection is suppose to represent natural, gentle and calm, but the model is scaring the bejesus out of me. Yikes! She’s seems too rough for this collection.

I’m excited for the Caviar Dreams Eyeshadow Quad! I have Brule, nothing special but it’s a handy shade to have. Dying to try Retrospeck out, and the two others look great, too. Finally a palette that I actually want!

oh wow that comfort cream sounds alot like BB creams. I wonder if it’s because of popular demand in Asia that they’re trying it out in the U.S?
For your information, BB creams are these tinted mosturizer/skincare product/ sunscreen. Many people absolutely love this product and it’s a major major hit in Asia.
The Comfort Cream is from Px’s line and has been around for years! 🙂

i’m no prude and living in France i’m used to seeing plenty of nude ads, but for US , it’s kind of shocking that MAC chose to blatantly put a nipple in their ad that will undoubtedly be in poster-size format in malls across America. it’s trying a little to hard IMO.

EEK! Two new collections launching on the same day??! Eh! I’m holding out for the Mickey Contractor Collaboration-BUT there has been soo much talk in the beauty world about Feline Kohl pencil that I HAVE to pick one up.
Definitely will check out the new paint pots…I bought Rubanesque as my first one ever and I kinda regret it because I’m NC44.5 and its very sheer on me! Would love to get soft Ochre, Indianwood and Constructivist from the permanent line first before getting any frosty finish ones!

Ok, so I headed into my local pro store today and was introduced to this collection (they ladies JUST got it in the other day). It was off behind the main store in a small little alcove (looked like a powder room). And let me tell you! I went crazy. The colors in person (especially the paint pots!) are just exquisite! I live with an autoimmune disease called lupus which actually attacks my skin from time to time, and I am SUPER excited to get the calming lotion! I ended up pre-ordering a bunch. This is going to be a nice addition to add to my existing collection. I nearly bought the entire collection, but I wanted to save some for the upcoming peacock one. Don’t miss out on these limited editions ladies, you’ll regret it if you are a die hard MAC fan.

I saw this collection and Stylishly Yours out in a mac counter last week. Wonder why they released it for sale, but not online.
Do you know when this is supposed to launch on the MAC website? I know it’s on Nordstrom.com, but I’d rather buy from from the MAC site. (free shipping codes, lol) It’s not up right now. =/
The official launch date is the 26th, but I don’t know when online will have it for sure, since it is the holidays, and I have no idea what their working schedule is like.
Is it me only, but MAC fluidline in ‘blacktrack’ put on the waterline smudges on me after 2-3 hours? It’s so annoying! It have such a watery eyes, that urban decay 24/7 in zero smudges, MAC smolder smudges, the fluidlines too. Even if I try to set it with a powder 🙁 So annoying! 😀
I want so much of this! But sadly, I’m broke after Christmas.

Feline is an eyeliner, Caviar Dreams is an eyeshadow quad.

I meant which eyeshadows are which in the palette…like it doesnt make sense on the container…..it says s and l and f and l…
S stands for Satin, L stands for Lustre, F stands for Frost. It is in order from left to right, top to bottom.

i love this, they must have thought of me when creating this becuase i would wear it all and im a man =D i always have the type of no makeup makeup look lyk the girl in the white picture.
for work, going out, etc EVERYTHING works for this collection im hoping, cant wait to go get some, im gonna be sad thought if its all sold out by the time i go to get it”!!

im going to buy all the lipsticks, some of the lipgeles, the powders and maybe a paintpot, chromagraphic pencil and possibly the tinted lip conditioner but i dont want the lavender scent to overpower my lips!

If it’s sold out online, it typically does not come back.
I wonder if MAC released this knowing what champale is. They drank it in the hood in Boston in the late 60s/early 70s. My dad could tell you some stories

really need some help here….so, I’m rahter new to MAC and getting back into the makeup swing of things (long story…) but trying to build my collection. I’m a pretty simple makeup girl, neutral, don;t take a whole lot of risks (working n that…) but I can’t decide bw chilled on ice or vintage selection for paint pots (i do have rsvp by benefit btw…), and eventhough these aren’t part of this collection, I am really looking for a blush that will be an everyday type color, and I’m bw well dressed and blushbaby. I’m pretty light, skin-tone wise – wear mineralized skin finish natural in light-medium and an NC20 for reference. I don;t have a MAC store nearby so i have to order online…and I jsut am unsure, so any help would be greatly appreciated by Christine or any of your fab followers!!! thanks all!
