is anyone else sick of all these MAC collections at once! it’s better for my wallet, but i am disappointed with how MAC has decided to release so much in so little time. Christine- this must be a nightmare for you! thanks for all your hard work!

Chelle Avatar

The last couple of collections-no heck practically this whole year I have only been getting maybe 4 or 5 items per collection, if that. They seriously need a collection that is worth buying every single item.

Stef Avatar

So true!!! And not to mention, alot of stuff in their collection this year has been..for lack of a better word…crap!I’d much rather have few collections, and better products!
Seriously, Christine u’re awesome 😀

Elysia Avatar

yea, I really haven’t been awestruck by anything MAC this year. The only stuff I have bought from them has been permanent products. I’ve been buying so much more UD!

Dayna Avatar

Its being VERY annoying, most of the items in the collections are crap too. Its ridicoulas, its hard for mac collectors(not saying me) to keep up. Its very annoying dont even bother wit some of the collections, christine ur amazing.

Lark Avatar

A lot of these are regular packaging and intended for cherry picking what looks good on you, but I agree about Too Much! Let us score something fabulous and get a chance to wear it for pity’s sake!

MAC has forgotten about the fun of wearing it. This beautiful collection should have been a month or six weeks minimum post Xmas. When we have cash and are hungry for this.

Kala Nofsinger Avatar

Awww I don’t think it’s so bad! I mean just look at this one, we get three months heads up. Thats time to save if it’s worth it! I just hate hearing about whats coming out later in the month because I never save up enough!!

Carrie Ann Avatar

I’m getting really tired of it, too. I can’t possibly afford to spend money on all of these collections and they’re limited edition! It’s getting a little frustrating. It would be better if they released one or two new collections every couple of months instead of releasing several ltd. ed. collections one after another. The only good thing is that they seem to be repromoting several popular products people weren’t able to get their hands on the first time around.

virginiaisforluvrs Avatar

Me too! Although I’m confused about the description “Light Milky Bright Coral.” Is it light or is it bright? Can it really be both? Interesting!

Jennifer Avatar

MAC used Flamingo and Scarlet Ibis at New York Fashion Week. You can see the colors on models on MAC’s website. They’re both beautiful, but I think Flamingo would look better when not blended onto the lips.

pLebiitah Avatar

It’s very light, i think it would show up better on lighter skin tones..
I’m still excited since i couldn’t get my hands on “Ever Hip” =( Hope Flamingo looks close!

Hunter Avatar

Light refers to the value, light versus dark. Basically is there more white or more black? Bright refers to the saturation of the pigment, desaturated dull and muted vs bright fully pigmented and full color. So bright but very light is definitely possible! Hope that helped 🙂

Hunter Avatar

“light” refers to how much white is in the color…lightness versus darkness. “Bright” refers to saturation of color…bright versus dull. So it sounds weird but light milky bright coral just means it’s very light (has a lot of white in it) but is a very bright pigment! 🙂

KB Avatar

It is BEAUTIFUL! It is a semi sheer pink-coral. ALL of those lipsticks will sell out. Pink Pigeon looks like Candy Yum Yum (which I am almost out of), so I am psyched.

Judy Avatar

I’m super psyched about this collection. I love birds so this is right up my alley. As of now, I am planning on buying all of the new lipsticks and maybe the Silver Gull eyeshadow.

Kim-Mary Avatar

Holy Mother of MAC! This collection just chirps out my name. I’m a bird lover. My grandmother has an aviary. She loved to save all types of birds. As of now this will be my favorite collection for 2012. I’m also super psyched for Glitter & Ice and Gareth Pugh even though it’s more expensive than I originally thought.
Can’t wait to see pictures & swatches.

Devi Avatar

MAC, Y U NO STOP PUTTING OUT COLLECTIONS?

I like being able to remember which collection is coming out each season, and what’s in said collection… I can’t do any of that now… too much stuff!

Chloë Avatar

I’ve been getting so sick of MAC’s endless, repetitive, overpriced, poor quality collections, but I absolutely LOVE Iris Apfel so they COULD just about turn it around for me if this was really great. I won’t be getting my hopes up though.

Kat Avatar

I’m excited for Too Chic, but that’s about it. I remember earlier collections where I wanted 6-7 items, and now it’s gone down to maybe 1 or 2 per collection.

bxboricua Avatar

crossing my fingers that this Howzat is just as good as the one I had before (not liking how some of MACs repromotes come out). Also interested in Flamingo

Jennifer Avatar

MAC has a photo up under NY fashion week: Jason Wu of Scarlet Ibis. It’s gorgeous. And it might just end up in my collection depending on the wear and application.

Amanda Avatar

This is the ONLY collection that excited me since Quite Cute (which wasn’t even that captivating)
I truly hope this lives up to my expectations!

Stacie N Avatar

I tried on Pink Pidgeon when I was at Update over the weekend. It is too fabulous 🙂 It is similar in color to Candy Yum Yum, but it felt more like an Amplified Creme than a Matte. Scarlet Ibis was more a true matte.

Lynne Avatar

Wonder if there’s going to be special packaging on this one?! I would love it! Thinking of Originals, was so good a collection with Iris’ picture!

Hilary Avatar

Pink Flamingo seems really pretty but unwearable. Flamingo sounds great.
And LOL I love the description for Morange lipstick: “loudmouth orange” haha

I personally like when MAC overdoes the collections. It makes me feel excited haha. Plus, I end up being pretty choosy with my items so I get only 2-3 products a collection.

Lark Avatar

Morange is permanent- you can run over to MAC and get it for your empties now. I bought it weeks ago and have been mixing it with reds and pinks- wait until summer! Morange and bronzer, very Palm Beach!
It requires full mouth lip pencil, it goes a bit sheer, but a pinky or red pencil makes a color in line with the feeling of this collection.
If you’re broke from Daphne Guiness it’s a trick!
I need that bright pink and I can die happy.

Sophie Avatar

this collection sounds amazing!
i’m so excited!
however, i wish they spread these holiday collections out a bit. i’m gonna be spending at least £300 at MAC & i’ve got presents to worry about!
bu i’m still so excited about all this stuff!

MakeupJukiee Avatar

Can’t wait!!! I’m super excited…. The discription of the l/s & e/s sound like awesome colors that are must haves for my colloection 🙂

Samantha Avatar

Ugh, Flamingo Lipstick is the one that caught my eye, but now I see all of these comments about it. I won’t have a chance of even looking at it in person!

Jennifer Avatar

flamingo lipstick maybe.. I saw it on one the models but I bet it looks better not blended in so much
and probably getting the Embrace Me lip pencil :] & some shadows depending on how they look

Enn Avatar

I AM GETTING SICK OF THESE LAME MAKEUP COLLECTIONS. IMO a good makeup collection should consist of MSF’s THEY ARE GETTING EXTINCT YOU KNOW.
Also, paint pots, blushes, etc.
A NEW BRUSH?
THIS IS GETTING BORING.

Anna Avatar

There was the posh paradise collection that had a large collection of paint pots. The Glitter and Ice collection also had a three more if glitter and shimmer is your thing.
The Semi precious collection had 4 msfs and the fall color collection had 2 albeit repromotes.
And msfs last forever and MAC releases a few a year.

Dana Avatar

I am excited about this collaboration and love that Mac celebrates those with great style that are not so conventional and mainstream. I wish the thought that went into the collaborations translated to the quality of their products for these campaigns.

Yeah, so it’s yet another limited edition release of products but I’m sure those that live near a CCO aren’t the ones complaining, that means more discounted product for us 🙂

Elysia Avatar

I haven’t bought from any of their collections all year. I think I have bought 2 permanent items, that’s it. Nothing has mad me go “wow” and jump outta my seat this year

Naz Avatar

Now THIS is an awesome collection. Been getting a little sick of the glitter and neutral stuff…so this is something to look forward to. Some great mattes and beautiful bright colors!

Chelsea Avatar

I’m interested to have a look at Silver Gull, as it’s a velvet.. that’s it =(
Also, the photograph at the top and the promo pics of the products look nothing alike.. so I’m hoping I’ll be presently surprised by a few items when I see them IRL.

farrowbk Avatar

le sigh – I have a list for this and the Naturally collection! This particular collection looks fun but I will wait for your reviews, Christine, before I buy!

Question: Any idea why MAC no longer puts out face charts on the website for collections anymore?? I’m very disappointed.

Lee Avatar

This is the first collection I’ve been really excited about in a long time. I love brights lippies and the eyeshadows look awesome. I hope they don’t understock tho’ and I’ll actually have a chance to get what I want; if I miss Pink Pigeon I’m gonna give up MAC forever.

Hannah Avatar

Everything looks gorgeous! This is the kind of collection that I would buy from (assuming the products are quality, as it looks like they may be because there is a clear concept rather than random products stuck in limited edition packaging)

Salvinia Avatar

Love the lipsticks and all the bird names, but they missed the perfect opportunity to repromote “Parrot” eyeshadow, which is pretty much the best turquoise ever.

Tina Avatar

I’m finding myself becoming less and less excited about Mac collections anymore. It just feels like they don’t really make things for the true artistry of color and makeup anymore and just to sell, sell, sell. Even colors I may be interested in I can’t be excited over because it’s like, well, it’ll sold out instantly because they’ll under-produce, so what’s the point? 🙁

Maddie Avatar

Oh wow. I’m falling on love with just about everything!!! I love all the corals and pinks (my 2 favorite lip colors :D) and the coral shadow!! I’m probably going to get all the lipsticks except for the orange (I could NEVER pull that one off haha) and pick up the beauty powder and a couple lip pencils too 🙂

Christina Avatar

I MUST OWN SCARLET IBIS!!! If only for it’s name!

As a Trinidadian beauty lover how could I NOT purchase a MAC lipstick in the name of our National bird?

Very Very excited. Probably too much so. What a junkie, I am.

Carmen Avatar

I echo sme of the comments here – too many collections with similar and repromote shades, and bigger pots (I mean, how many of us really use a shadow all up?) means highter prices…how about small and lower prices?? I love MAC lip products and some shadows, but Inglot shadows are my new loves. And for the price of the Inglot pans ($5), no decision…

Lilinah Avatar

Shrug. I mean, i LOVE the photo of Iris Apfel – really – but the colors in the collection didn’t do much for me.

I have too many red lipsticks already that i hardly wear, i don’t wear bright orange lipstick or hot hot pink/fuchsia, so not tempting to me. I did test Flamingo and it looks like some other non-MAC lipsticks i already own. So nothing compelling in the lip categories.

After testing them, the eye shadows didn’t seem very special. Quite a few are easily dupable just from MAC’s permanent collection, let alone some other cosmetic company. And several were kinda hard without much color payoff.

The coral red and hot pink nail polishes didn’t appeal to me either, and while i liked “Sandpiper”, MAC has come out with so many variations on “stone beige” (beige-y grey) in the past year that i didn’t need that one – i got the one in the Surf, Baby collection and that’s enough for me for the time being – and MAC’s polishes continue to be very sheer and streaky, so if i want another, i’ll look for it in another brand.

Adelita Avatar

Aaahhh M·A·C…, I’ve been waiting for a year (Peacocky was launched on Jan 6th 2011 and this collection will be available on Jan 5th 2012), wishing for Kissable Lipcolour to be repromoted. But alas, none, nichts!
Dear M·A·C, while your lipsticks are lovely, your Kissable Lipcolours is da bomb!!! Please bring it back, make it permanent!

Allie Avatar

That promo pic is fabulous! :O I absolutely love it.

So sad that this collection is colorful, that means I want almost everything LOL. Every single one of those lipsticks (possibly not Morange) is calling my name. >_> And that teal eyeshadow. I must have that teal eyeshadow!

Carla Avatar

Oh, CRAP!
I didn’t think I was going to want much from this collection, but the photos of those bright lipsticks is sucking me right in!
Some of the eyeshadows are pretty appealing, too …
Somebody HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!

C Avatar

ive no idea who this woman is, but I enjoy her promo image.
i was expecting from the description a little more … well a lot more POW or impact from the colours put out .. its all a bit blah for me sadly.

I mean how many shades of brown and grey or pink does one person need? Bah Humbug!

Jazmyn Avatar

omg! the lipsticks look wonderful, based on the pictures I want Pink Pigeon, Party Parrot, and Flamingo 😀 and maybe the Too Chic beauty powder too!

Nubia136 Avatar

The lip pencil “Entertain me” is this collection and Tour de Fabulous Collection, which are out one behind each other. Which also means they will be available the same time. Mac, REALLY? I don’t see that this makes any kind of sense.

Christine Avatar

Tour de Fabulous (previously Glamglass) was scheduled to launch several months ago, and MAC typically plans 12-24 months in advance, so that might have been why 🙂 Not necessarily – could have just as easily not thought it through, though!

Star Dionne Avatar

I am kind of over people complaining about all of the MAC collections…(lol tell me something i don’t know or heard before in 2011). but I actually this one does not seem so bad.

Ava Avatar

I was so lucky to see this out at the MAC Pro store in Nashville! These lippies are really gorgeous, though the only color that sang on me was Scarlet Ibis (it’s much more orange on me than the photos would suggest, though).

Amy Em Avatar

Just checked – This was already up online – no more Flamingo. I guess mac’s info quality is sliding along with the product quality 🙁

Monica Avatar

I called my local MAC store (Cherry Hill, NJ) and they haven’t heard of this collection therefore they don’t have it. I moved cross country this past summer and it’s funny that I know more about MAC than the East Coast people out here. 😛 My West Coast people know what’s up! Can anyone verify this please? Thanks!

Enzo Aldeza Avatar

loved the Iris Apfel collection!!! hope to have a poster sign by Ms. Iris Apfel!!!! thanks… buy it now, your money is worth buying it!!!!
