Guerlain Shine Automatique Launches

Guerlain Shine Automatique Launches

For the fun and flirty girl who wants to add a little sparkle into her life, Guerlain introduces Shine Automatique! Given the success of Rouge Automatique’s smooth texture and stunning outer case, Guerlain’s newest innovation is made up of the same core formula but now reveals a sheer and sparkling side. With 12 new shades to compliment their predecessor, this lipstick will give you a bold yet shimmery look.

Formulation:

  • Second-Skin Texture: Sensory oils + waxes with different fusion points gradually liquefy during application, depending on temperature of the lips. The result is a soft sensory film that becomes one with skin, offering impeccable coverage that is neither too oily nor too thick.
  • Cristal Pigments: a non-opaque pigment that makes it possible to obtain luminous, clear and pure colors. The result is more transparent, giving purity and radiance to colors with no whitening effect.
  • Pearly particles: various shimmering, pearly particles boosts lips with discreet yet exceptional shine.

Hmmm – a little off topic here but why does the ad campaign remind me of those late 80s-early 90s magazine ads? Looks kinda outdated. That said, I’d like to try Mi Mai 🙂

Ohhh I can’t wait for lip swatches. Judging by the promo picture it looks like they may be slightly more pigmented than the average sheer lipstick, but usually none of the promo pics can be trusted…
Looking forward to it!

I’m too into the lip butters to look for any other lipstick! Plus why spend $30+ when lip butter feel amazing for $6!

Bye Guerlain! I’m saving monay

I got to try these on Friday! They have a surprising amount of colour, but they’re not opaque- sort of like Mac lustre formula lipsticks, but so much nicer. They’re unbelievably soft. I didn’t really get a chance to figure out the wear time. I’m definitely picking up a couple!

Won’t know for sure til I’ve tried it, but I’m leaning towards “leave it” though I love the Rouge Automatique formula because I tend to favor more opaque lipsticks and strongly dislike frost/shimmer on lips. Hopefully it’ll be more of a sheer juicy look than a shimmery one, but we’ll see.

Summer is just around the corner and various cosmetic houses, high end and drugstore, are releasing their balm-like translucent colors. As the weather warms up here, it is time to think about putting away the more lush and opaque formulas and put on some shine 🙂 So long as the color selection, texture, and finish are great, I don’t mind reapplying frequently. I’m looking forward to seeing Guerlain’ entry into the shine category.

FYI, I did not think most of the shades looked overly shimmery. Some are more so than others, but some look quite creamy. I’d actually say that, for once, the photo gives a good idea of what they look like.

Natalia is sporting a pretty color but I have my fill of lip products that are shimmery, sheer, and have a lot of slip–I am mostly enticed by more long-wearing products that don’t dry out the lips. The colors look pretty, but I will have to check out the matter/more opaque and creamy Guerlain lippies!
