That palette! And those lipsticks! I see October may be an expensive month for me. Chanel has created the palette that speaks to me – those shades are some of my favs. I also really love how fashion forward Chanel is becoming. Their recent releases seem to be much more on trend than in years past.
OOH I saw this the other day online and fell in love. Very nice collection.
The eyeshadow palette is not my cup of tea, but the glosses look interesting! Is this a second fall collection from Chanel?
Christine, this collection is coming out at the time Chanel’s Holiday collection is usually released, October. This can’t be their holiday collection, can it? Do you have any info on a Holiday collection from Chanel? I’m hoping that perhaps with their new creative director, Lucia Pica, maybe they’re changing up the release dates and a Holiday collection will come out in November or December. Thanks.
All info I have to share is always posted on the blog! 🙂
Hi Daisy,
According to the European blogs I read, Chanel is calling this a fall collection. Holiday is still to come. It’s interesting that Chanel decided to release two totally different fall collections. From the standpoint of color palette, it’s like the first very warm one was summer into fall and this second much cooler one is fall into winter.
Hi Eileen,
I just saw your comment. Thanks for the clarification. I was having a hard time believing that this was Holiday. I’m excited to see what Chanel has in store for us.
Your thoughts about a fall “summer into fall” and the second “fall into winter” are dead on as usual.
Thanks,
Daisy
I was told twice by chanel.com (once in live chat and second via e-mail) that this collection replaces the holiday collection. The e-mail said this:
“Please know that Collection Libre 2016, Synthetic De Chanel, is our collection for the holiday season. This bold collection plays with vibrant colors and a range of textures. It is inspired by the material urban world. Collection Libre 2016 is currently available in limited quantities on Chanel.com and will be available in stores in late October.”
Blah. That has to be the WORST shadow palette I’ve ever seen Chanel release. Black, light black, grey black and navy blue.
Well, my goodness. It looks like the 70’s makeup look has now reached the shores of Chanel!
Nicely done, but like denim overalls, I’ll be skipping.
This collection looks pretty nice. Nothing really “out there”, but I kind of love that right now. I especially like the palette.
This is great looking. I hope the reviews are good cause I’m certainly interested in the palette.
I like a smoky eye but what catches my eye here is the pink nail varnish and blush!
Another joues contrastes?? Yeah! 🙂 Christine will you make a review for the new foundation “Le teint ultra tenue” from Chanel please??
I don’t purchase palettes usually but I really do like this one! So maybe!?
For me, this is a “wait & see” type of thing. So I will wait to see how nicely (or not) these perform. Although I do feel that since I already have the UD Naked Smoky, plus other likewise dark smokey shades, that I probably don’t need this palette. That blush, though, may be a very different story!
Wow, that is one cooool toned shadow palette! Curious if it’s any good. I do have to be careful with those colors though, as they can mimic and amplify dark circles/shadows under my eyes.
I have been really happy with the last two collections from Chanel. I love both the summer and fall palettes. I didn’t think I would like the fall collection but have been pleasantly surprised. I will wait and swatch this one as I do have some dark circles under my eyes and these shades may enhance them and not in a good way.
Just LOVE the palette – it contains perfect shades for me. Those lipsticks are pretty darn good too.
The model – hmmm not fond of the harsh black eye liner on her lower lash line. It makes her eyes smaller. A softer use of shadow would have been better I think.
The palette is what catches my eye, but I have concerns. The last couple of eyeshadow releases from Chanel have been a real let down. Let’s hope this one is a marked improvement.
That palette looks BAD! In a good way. I want a good silver / gray eye shadow palette love the navy too. Mmmm
Something about the aesthetic of this collection seems almost retro to me, but I’m not hating it.
Hmmm…that palette looks right up my alley. I may have to take the plunge on that and Ultraberry. I also saw an item that looked like a BB gel eyeliner in lack. I love Chanel Hoilday collections! I will wait for swatches as some of these Chanel palettes can have poor color payoff.
Bought this shadow palette in Paris and LOVE it!
