crystalline couture veil….so a sheer version of the Blitztrance?
Are these more glittery than the other BlitzTrance lipsticks? Would have made a great set, too bad they are $38 a piece. I have Fuschia Perfect and Rebel Red BlitzTrance lipsticks and they are shiny, hydrating and have decent longevity. Too bad they won’t be at Sephora in time to use the discount code.
So, they’re shinier, have more glitter, than the originals (which just launched)?
So they’re just pure glitter?
I just received Rebel Red and I LOVE it. It is a perfect holiday red with just enough glitter….not overkill. It’s also perfect for evening, although I did wear it during the day with a red and black dress. And the packaging is beautiful also. Great purchase, and I don’t get to say that very often!
In this new formula? There is a prior formula that was released not long ago in the same color.
This is a new formula. It’s supposed to be glitterier. I have 6 in the original formula and absolutely love them especially Electra. Just purchased rebel red in the starglaze formula and cannot wait to see how the new formula is!!!!
Per PMG’s marketing team, they said that it’s not a new formula – it is a re-release of three shades in collector’s packaging.
In the words of George Takei: “Oh, myyyyyy!”
Since I already have Rebel Red and Flesh Fatale, I’ll pass. However, I do wonder whether the “crystalline couture veil” is just some sort of gimmick or what. I hope not, for the sake of those who decide to take a chance on them.
Hi Christine! You noted that “these are a re-release as a collector’s edition but the application/color is the same.” What in the heck is a “crystalline couture veil?” I have the Blitztrance that were recently released so are these Starglaze Blitztrance MORE or LESS glittery than those? The same but different packaging? I’m so confused and I can’t find swatches of the “new” 3 products anywhere. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance. 🙂
Not sure… the speculation is it’s just… extra glitter on the outside maybe?
Great! That’s what I was thinking it might. Because I have the others, I think this will be an easy pass. Thanks so much for all of your great reviews and swatches on products. This is always the first (and sometimes) only site I check whenever I’m curious about or interested in buying something. I know the information and reviews will always be honest and unbiased so keep up the great work. 🙂
I was confused as well. I compared the descriptions of Rebel Red vs Starglaze Rebel Red on Pat’s site and it looks like the latter has the additional description of “covered in ruby glitter” which the Blitztrance Rebel Red doesn’t have. I am confused if that is something they added to the Starglaze formula or they just left out that verbiage from the Blitztrance description. 🙁
The interior product is the same – effectively it’s the same product just with an overspray – from what I’m told.
Thank you Christine, exactly as you just said. I had emailed them this morning and they replied: Hi,Thank you for reaching out to us!Our StarGlaze Lipstick is a limited-edition BlitzTrance Lipstick veiled in a glittering couture coating. The formula and color are the same as the BlitzTrance Lipstick but each bullet is glazed in a fine glitter, adding a scintillating swoosh of sparkle to your lips. Don’t forget to use the code STAR10 at checkout to receive 10
Yeah, so it’ll look different initially, and the sides will be more glittery, but after the first application or so, you probably won’t notice much additional glitter, IMO!
Just saw these before coming to your site and thought that they look great on the arms, but I must see them on your lips first. 😉 Also, for all the quality of Pat’s lipsticks (I’ve yet to buy one, but can tell from your reviews), I don’t care for the fact that her lip colors look so great on the models’ lips on her site, but the colors don’t actually look like they do there on your lips and swatches (and not just your reviews, but others comments) so, I question the fact that she uses filters and the like to fix pictures perhaps. This bothers me because her quality is the bomb (I have one her earlier sets, Dark Matter, and it blew me away!) and I feel deceived.
I was exactly like you. I have struggled out of principle paying this amount for lipstick. The amount of reapplication needed for two Tom Ford lippies..,I just didn’t see the value. I don’t like drying mattes and love one moisturize and shine. And wanted at least some longevity…especially when speeches…because let’s be real…when speaking, you wear it down. The absolute best I’ve gotten from a non liquid lipstick was 1.5 hrs. I went through a bullet in a month when I was having to be at work 6x a week.
I got a PG lipstick a month ago with my first PG palette. I just went through a similar schedule and only put 1/4 dent into it. I just ordered some more from her vault sale. Love, love, love. I also got a lip lines (love to color in my lips with one and use glosses). I haven’t used but wow, I swatched and that swipe had hard core staying power. Never even smeared.
I was waiting on Flesh Fatale to come back to stock but I jumped on this LE version instead.
Since I love Pat McGrath products in general, I wouldn’t mind if the lipstick has extra glitter.
