The Detour palette looks exactly like their Beached palette. The two shades of blue and all! The only win from UD for me the last few years was their Born to Run palette, honestly! I think they’re running out of ideas.

I plan on getting Bailout. I am always running out of those neutral browns so I definitely need them on a consistent basis, love and have completely used up Chopper in a different UD palette, and purple is the one fun color I wear the most of. I don’t care how old I am, I will always rock my Alma maters color on game day!

I like these tailored, smaller palettes UD’s doing. This one looks like a fall/winter version of Beached (which I still sort of regret not picking up). This one is not for me, it runs a little darker than looks best on me, but I do like it.

I got Beached (I was surprised to learn it was sold at some Shoppers location in Canada) and while I love it and I’m glad to have it, it really isn’t a “must have” in the sense that it’s a palette you can reach for every day. Hope that makes you feel better.

Urban Decay has begun to feel like just a higher end version of ColourPop lately. Both are churning out the exact same color combos over and over again. That said, the problem may be me. Perhaps I am now just so jaded from the constant torrent of the “new! new! new!”, that it has all started to run together. Now, if they would have taken the purples from Bailout and the rosy and redder shades from Shortcut, I would have been all over that!

Or people like me who LOVE certain colors and when they pop up in a palette get excited they don’t have to buy a new single when they run out (2 faves are YDK and Chopper). I do think the palettes have overall become more subdued and wish they would put out some bright mattes like they used to.

I should just change my name to “Sucker” – I see these and I want these even though I’ve got so many of them already (I got the Beached palette which contains several; I have a few others in other palettes and is there a woman makeup enthusiast who DOESN’T own Sin?). So I likely wont buy any of these (or maybe one) but that doesn’t stop me eyeing them!

Somehow these got released earlier in Canada, and I am a sucker, and bought all three. Some of the colours are indeed repetitive, but I like being able to grab a small palette and put a look together. They somehow don’t seem quite as pigmented and blendable as the full sized Born to Run palette, but pretty and I’ll get a lot of use out of them.

These were released yesterday on the Sephora app for 24 hours only. I was able to score all three using my $20 off coupon for only $55. I have many of the colors in other palettes or as singles, but I like the small palettes better than the big ones often because it is easier to pull together a look with less choices. As long as the quality of the shadows is up to par, I can see these getting a lot of use.

I have and love the Born To Run palette. It was the only palette that my daughter and I took to Europe with us for the 5 weeks and it covered all our needs. We were able to day looks, night looks and, in my daughter’s case, some pretty artsy looks. The quality was great and the palette held up well to our nearly constant packing and unpacking, makeup application in strange places and since we did carry on only, the not so gentle handling of the security and baggage crews. I have several of the repromoted shades in these mini’s so won’t be getting this but imagine they will be good little palettes for anyone wanting a smaller and more neutral palette than the full BTR palette.

I wish these had not been three separate palettes, bit one palette with 3 possible looks (blue, purple, and warm-toned) with the basic/transition shades shared. Nothing about this excites me except the pops of color in each one. Why is everything so samey-same except for 1-2 colors?

Veronica Avatar

I want Detour and Bailout, but the packaging looks like cardboard. WHY??? The Born To Run and all the Naked palettes have such good sturdy packaging, why the cardboard?

Lauren Avatar

I have a cardboard palette from UD (Urban Vices) and it is really sturdy. I’ve had it for a long time and have not had a problem with it. The packaging is thick. I like it because it is nice and light weight for travelling.

Jolanda Avatar

I love my Born to Run palette although the neutrals in it are a little to dark and warm for my skintone to be a neutral for me. So for me that is not a travelpalette on its own. I need a palette with lighter nudes to compare it with. But I’m not sure any of this small palettes will complement the range Born to Run is missing for me. International in January, I will be on a no/lo-buy for 2019. So not for me but I think I can create similar looks with my stash, even if it aren’t real dupes. Easy to talk out of my head. I just combine Born to Run with a palette of a Dutch drugstore for my neutrals.

Zoe Avatar

These would be such a nice return to form, if UD had not already released a slew of other palettes in the past year. This is the first time I have been tempted by them in a while, but I already own most of these colors. They are really just neutral palettes with 2 pops of color each. NICE TRY. I am holding out for a single of Switchback.
