This would be badass if the colors swatched as they appear in the pan. The red color is desaturated brown on the skin, there’s nothing badass about it.
Well said.
I second that, well said.
While I actually like the red better for being brown rather than “red”, (red eyeshadow just does not work for me) I agree entirely with your comment. Quite a few of Tom Ford’s recent releases have really not lived up to the exorbitant prices attached to them.
Red eyeshadow is unflattering on me too, but I would have loved to use the red shade as a lip powder if it was as bright as in the first picture.
Until I read the launch information, I thought there were 2 different quads. The one shade looks so red in one image! And then purple/mauve in another and then the swatch looks…brown. The swatches are pretty disappointing and makes the palette look rather uninspired. And they want us to pay $88 for that? Nope.
This reminds me of Double Indemnity AND Soleil Neige…I’m a huge TF fan but I wish they would stop putting out the same colour palettes again and again and again!
If the “red” is, as I suspect, like the red in Honeymoon, it probably lacks shine and the red intensity seen in the pan. Or, like Honeymoon, best used in a wet application. Not a terrible thing in itself, just something one needs to be okay with doing.
Wow, what a bait and switch on that “red”, the only reason I had any interest.
Knee jerk reaction to want to get this to keep current with my collecting, but not really feeling it. I feel like if I just added a little zhooj of MAC edes Dark Dare or something similar, I’d have the look in the promo. The name is silly to me. Meh.
Oops – It should have said if I added a little zhooj of MAC edes Dark Dare with the White Suede quad
Shimmered black, grey, brown and champagne? It’s been done.
That red looks plum in one quad, burgundy in another, and straight-up brown in the swatch.
That’s pretty bad-a$$ed!
Very pretty, but I think I would like the lightest shade to be a bit more pigmented and two grey shades in a quad is one too many. We shall see.
I keep hoping Tom will make me the happiest girl alive by re-releasing Cognac Sable; maybe the brand could replicate the colors but use his wet/dry formula as that’s what seems to be the trend for the brand this year.
Cognac Sable in the wet/dry formula! That would be something to save up money for!
