Sephora Shimmer Slate Gray, Shimmer Khaki Green, Shimmer Aqua 12HR Eyeliner Pencil Reviews & Swatches
Shimmer Slate Gray
Sephora Shimmer Slate Gray 12HR Retractable Eyeliner Pencil ($13.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a deep purpled navy blue with cooler undertones and a pearly sheen. It wasn’t that pigmented in one stroke, but this shade built up really nicely.
- Medium, buildable coverage
- Lightly creamy, comfortable to use
- Applied evenly, layered well
- Long-wearing (8.5 hours before fading but not 12-hours)

- Urban Decay Empire (P, $22.00).
Formula Overview
$13.00/0.01 oz. - $1300.00 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to have a "super-creamy, waterproof formula" that has "intensity." The pigmentation ranged from shade to shade with the more matte shades tending to have semi-opaque, buildable coverage, while the shimmers were often a bit sheerer and did not always build up as well.
The texture ranged from lightly creamy to moderately creamy but were comfortable to work with on the lash line without tugging or dragging. They claimed 12-hour wear, but my experience was that they lasted closer to eight to eight and a half hours for most shades. They seemed water-resistant overall. The range seemed decent but nothing ground-breaking nor a real improvement over most eyeliner ranges available. Given that these are twist-up, they contain very little product for the price, so not the first formula I'd reach for.

I bought Slate Grey last week. Great color and it ends there. It’s really soft and for lack of a better term goopy even though it’s a pencil. It just went all over on my eyes. I gave it to a friend. I prefer and it’s the same color Revlon Black Violet eyeliner. More control and just prettier.
I like both of these shades. I think the Slate Grey, with the navy mixed in gives it a softer shade than true navy and would be quite versatile when paired with other colours.
The olive green shade has been a perennial favourite of mine and it looks pretty good too with its satin finish.
Even though neither one is *perfect* in the wear time department, I really love both of these shades a LOT. And with my applying them on top of an eyeshadow, they should stick around for a good 10 hours, I suppose.
Even though it looks more brown than green, I do like Shimmering Khaki Green and may pick it up. I was keen on the Slate Grey one too (though it’s more blue than slate grey) until I read Nina’s comment.
