11 11

ColourPop 11:11 12-Pan Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ($22.00 for 0.3 oz.) is a new, oversized 12-pan palette that included six matte shades, one sparkle-matte shade, two shimmer shades, and three glitter shades. Two of the three glitter shades had a sparser amount of glitter particles, while one was mostly glitter; these three contained plastic (PET) glitter. The quality of the eyeshadows, generally, was good and consistent with the brand’s formulas: pigmented, blendable, and easy enough to use with some powderiness from mattes.

Total Angel

Total Angel is a bright, icy white with cooler undertones and a metallic sheen.

  • Semi-opaque pigmentation
  • Smooth but slightly firmer consistency, a bit thin
  • Picked up readily with dry brush, blended out well
  • Long-wearing (7.5 hours before fading visibly)

Top Dupes

These are the dupes the editor has pulled but not yet rated and officially entered.

Formula Overview

$4.50/0.05 oz. - $90.00 Per Ounce

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

NOTICE: All products categorized under "Glitter" contain Polyethylene Terephthalate, also known as plastic or PET glitter, and it is typically cosmetic grade glitter. Inclusion of this ingredient sometimes carries a warning (in the US) that the product is "not intended for use in the immediate eye area." This ingredient has not been approved for usage on the eyes per the FDA. In recent years, some brands are including this product in their eyeshadows without any warning or callout and effectively marketing them as eyeshadows or including a symbol of an "eye" which suggests eye usage. Via CosIng for EU, PET glitter is permitted without any restrictions or limitations. For an in-depth look at whether cosmetic grade glitter is safe, please view this post.

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Yes Genevieve, they ruined what could have been a rather nice palette that one could have used for either cooler toned everyday looks, or as a something perfect for a more conservative work/professional environment. One bad experience years ago with a PET glitter eyeshadow was enough for me to be extra cautious when it comes to them. I do still own that Marc Jacobs Sequins single pot of something that has it, but haven’t used it since the incident involving using it. If I ever do again, it WILL be with my Nyx Glitter Primer and taken off with q-tips in an upward, away from the edge of lashline!

The colours are pretty, but I’m not going to buy any of Colourpop’s palettes that contain glitter anymore. Every palette that I have purchased has spoiled and started to smell like rancid oil after 6 months, and I store all my makeup in a dark, cool place. Their normal shimmer/frost formula and mattes are fine; it’s just the ones with glitter. One palette, I can overlook, but I’ve had this happen to four palettes. Even when I throw out the affected pans, the smell still lingers.
