Merit Solo Shadow for Fall 2023
Release Date + About the Launch
Solo Shadow is inspired by the simplicity and ease of the ‘90s — when eyeshadow was worn in a single wash of color, not as part of a complicated eye look. That’s why, instead of developing a palette with multiple shades, we created a single pot of color in just eight — four neutral shades designed to work with your shade of The Minimalist and four statement shades for a touch of wearable color.

The web site says it’s a cream-to-powder formula.
I’m sure it’s fine for their target audience, and the colors are certainly very 90s, but I am totally uninterested. zzz
Midcentury reminds me of Revlon Bali Brown from the 90’s when Revlon actually made EXCELLENT matte eyeshadow. I used up a few pans of Bali Brown when my kids were young. That, smudgy black or deep brown liner, and mascara. There was also another one that I used like that, a smokey grayish purple that really made the green in my eyes pop! Simplicity may be making a comeback, and I’m not mad at it.
These look like powder shadows in their pans but the “swipe/swatches” look more like cream shadows. Which are they? (their blurb doesn’t seem to say unless I missed it which is totally possible).
These do look quite promising, especially if they are in satin and soft shimmer shades. Lots of makeup wearers prefer singles for a one and done look. This is a new brand to me and I hope it is worthwhile.
Have similar thoughts and impressions and like you looking forward to what’s to come and the quality of the product.
Midnight, Viper and Nelson, looks beautiful and I think will made a beautiful eyelook
Yes, bring garage door eyeshadow back!
I’m curious how Midcentury compares to MAC Groundwork.
